Cross Country Skiing
Labeled as one if not the best form of aerobic exercise for the creature
human, 35% of our members do this exclusively. Many of the rest are
'cross-skiers'. Fortunately Central New York has many, many kilometers of
groomed trails for us to enjoy. Some are right in the city! Within a two
hour drive are state parks, the Erie Canal path, county parks, and quite
a number of dedicated areas just for the skinny skis, and snowshoeing too.
Anybody heard of Tug Hill? Close by...lots and lots of snow. Some members
are lucky enough to be able to go right out their back door, cross the fields
and into the woods. Yes!
For more information on Tug Hill cross country skiing, check the following:
Even our western trips have members taking this equipment, and enjoying
the great outdoors in the big, BIG land. We're serious about skiing.
Come join us."
Our members enjoy cross-country skiing in the Laurentian Mountains of Quebec, with their great French/English hospitality and hundreds of miles of trails. Check out a recent report by OSC member Bob Lake. L’Esprit de Jackrabbit
