A-    CNY Edge Discussion:

a.      Group of 6 of their leaders to be invited for a free weekend at Lodge.

b.      Tom Button has a list of freebies in the area of the Lodge.

c.      Scott and Bill are point people in arranging this event.

d.      Dick Butler to work with Scott, Tom, and Bill to work out the details of this event.

B-    Membership Dues:

a.      Tom Button to recast the budget based on what our present financial picture looks like with the dropping of the Ski Sale.

b.      Question was raised (membership will ask) – What are we going to do with the $40K we have invested?

                                                               i.      One suggestion – invest some of it in new membership development.

c.      Arley recommends that we do not increase fees.  Triple Cities is $10/person.

C-    Skill Level Based OSC Activities

a.      Why we loose members:
Major discussion revolved around the fact that many members leave because their performance skills are not matched by the activities we offer.  For example, Tennis does not allow for A. B, & C level players.  Thus, the more skilled players go elsewhere to find a challenge befitting their skill levels.

b.      We need to downgrade age as the issue and upgrade performance levels in our activities.

c.      Cycling comes closest meeting skill based activities – offering three rides to meet 3 different skill levels.

d.      Club is a mixed bag of events with no coordinated overall format to meet varying skill levels.  Each person who leads an activity is really bon his own.

e.      Club requires Even Activity Leadership Training.

                                                               i.      Marv to work with Arley to develop group activity training guidance (written document)

ii.      Email the leadership package out as a promo tool

iii.      Train present leaders with new tool. (Possibly call a meeting of all present event leaders to bang out the guide & get their buy-in).

iv.      Set up multiple mailing lists based on membership activity interests to facilitate moving of event information to those interested.

                                                             v.      Make this leadership guide downloadable from the web.

D-    Enhanced OSC Part Events:

a.      A lot of sub-groups offer activities that are not offered to the club as a whole.

b.      Tom Button to create a skiing event on a regular basis that could rotate between mountains. Talk with Jeff Jacobs about Tog.

c.      Tom Button to create a “Club Night” where OSC invites all the local clubs to participate.

d.      Tom Button to investigate the possibility of inviting the Ski Hawks to join us at our club activities.

                                                               i.      Possibly an email announcement to their membership might work.

e.      Set up standard Email format so that all essential information is sent to the membership in a standard format.  As it is now, each individual makes up his own and many times essential info is missing.

                                                               i.      Make this information downloadable from the web.

E-     Membership Drive

a.      Define what this would be and establish it after:

                                                               i.      We establish care & nurture of new members.

1.      Need to define role of sponsor

2.      Need to assign sponsors to new members

3.      Need a new members chair to carry this out.

ii.      Train Activity Leaders to be sensitive to skill level activities

iii.      Establish firm communication links between activity leaders and membership

1.      Email

2.      Web

3.      Etc.
