Next Meeting: Wednesday, Feb 8th, 7:00 PM @ Marvin Patnode’s home.
                          Purpose: Refine brainstormed ideas into an action plan.

 

Minutes:

The committee “Brainstormed” possible fund raising means to replace the club income lost by the demise of our traditional Ski Sale.  Everyone enjoyed the open exchange of ideas, and the group established feasible means of raising money from outside and within the club membership.

 

By the way, any of you reading this on our website are welcome to participate, and we encourage you to send the committee your fundraising ideas and comments.  Send all comments/ideas to my email address: mpatnode@earthlink.net.

a.       Bike ride like Seagull Century

c.       Theme Day Race at Local Mountain

B-    Social:

a.       Silent Auction

b.      Wine Tasting

c.       Dinner Dance

d.      Food & Flick or Show

e.       Fundraising Dance

C-    Sales to Public:

a.       Antique Sale

b.      Rummage Sale

c.       Big Garage sale

d.      Craft Sale

e.       Bake Sale

Inside Fundraising Possibilities:

A-    Lodge:

a.       Charge more for Holidays and Weekends

b.      Raise Room Rates for non-CNY members

c.       Fill  6 new Lodge weekends with special events

                                                               i.      Ski Trip out of Lodge

                                                             ii.      Tour of central Vermont

                                                            iii.      Etc.

B-    Dues:

a.       Major Membership recruitment

b.      Raise Dues $10 to $15

c.       Ensure those that participate in OSC activities are Members

d.      Set up promotional booths at Tog, Lab, etc.

e.        

C-    Meetings:

a.       Have sponsorship fees to attend meetings

a.       Switch 50/50 Raffle from Social to General Budget

D-    Social:

a.       Cake Sale & Party

b.      Picnic box lunch sale

c.       Camp out meeting

d.      Golf tournament

e.       Sell gourmet food boxes

 

Next Meeting Objectives:

A-    Define magnitude of money to be raised

B-    Quantify dollar potential of above ideas

C-    Determine which of the above ideas (singly or in combination) would generate club enthusiasm and meet the financial goals.

D-    Determine each program’s possible ownership (potential leader or leaders)

E-     Plan next steps
