Committee Reports:

-Communications:  The September boomer is out.  Thanks to Debby Beaumont for all the work and time she spent preparing our Boomer over the past couple years.  Karen Whedon will now assume the responsibilities of preparing the Boomer.

-Lodge Report.  Bill Beaudin reported the Lodge Committee will meet Sept 9.  Their work week-end is October 2-3.  They plan to finish the wall, window, and lock on rear door.  They will work on the men’s dorm door and repair roof.   We have approximately $2,565 on deposit with the New Jersey Ski club for the unused Vermont ski tickets we returned at the end of winter.  Bill will ask Art Holbin to follow up on this.

-Membership.  Jack Lancette reported there has been a smooth transition of duties of the Membership Chair from Christa Foster to Jack.  Thank you to Christa for her years and years of work.  Marv Patnode helped with computer transfer and will continue to help Jack set up new lists and programs.  There are 567 members of OSC,and 526 mailing labels for  the Boomer.  Bill Beaudin requested a full list of member to use in Lodge reservations.  The new database used for membership was discussed.

-Ski Sale Update.  Marv Patnode reported we are now on the Labrador Web site.  We will have info our own web site also.  Marv reviewed the activities that will occur at the Ski Sale such as the Labrador Ski Patrol Barbecue, The Puffin Lounge will be open, a Climbing wall to challenge all, etc.

-Social:  “Night on the Town” is Friday, September 10, at The Simmering Pot Restaurant at the Holiday Inn on Farrell Road,  Liverpool.  Karen Whedon will have a bike ride from her house on September 18.  John Whelan is leading the Covewood trip again this year on September 10-12.

-Biking.  Reminder that the biking group is meeting at 5:30 now since it gets dark earlier.  Tomorrow we will meet at ESM school and have a covered dish dinner at Joan Salem’s after the ride.    Anne Sonne will have the Biking wrap-up party at her house on September 29.

-Trips.  John Whelan will head up the Garnet Hill trip again this year the third weekend in January.  There are no other firm trips yet.

-Outing Report.  Terry Avery reported on the successful Canoe/Kayak/Camping event at Lake Eaton State Campground this summer.

Old Business: Karen Whedon had sent an email reporting there was no news on insurance for the club.

New Business:  Scott Severance suggested changing our meeting advertising wording to “meeting starts at 7:30” instead of 8:00, as the socializing and visiting interest tables are part of the meeting.  Tom Button made a motion we advertise our start of OSC General  Meetings at 7:30 p.m..  Christa Foster seconded the motion.  The motion was passed.

Long Range Planning Committee Report.  Marvin Patnode reported this committee will meet again on September 21 at 7:00 pm at Scott’s office.  The committee is planning a walk through on the Web page at the October OSC General meeting.  Many members do not know how to access our OSC web site so this will be very helpful. The Long Range Planning committee has suggested an open house for the CNY Edge, at the lodge.  Tom Button will investigate insurance coverage for an event like this.

Judy Swanson announced she cannot finish her term as Past President as she will be leaving the area at the end of September.

Tom Button made a motion to adjourn the meeting and Arley Morey seconded the motion.  The meeting was adjourned at 8:14 pm.

Respectfully submitted

Jane McCarthy, Acting Recording Secretary
