Committee Reports

Long Range Planning- The committee will regroup soon.  Marv will post the date.

Communications-

Schussboomer- The Boomer has made a successful transition to the website.

Lodge- People are still utilizing the lodge but things will slow up during April.  There are only 4 ski tickets left for Killington.  There will be a work weekend the week after next.  A lodge committee meeting is also coming up.  There are members that plan to have special events to stimulate interest in the lodge.

Trips-

Austria-This trip was a success with only one mishap.  Remo Bianco was hit by another skier and was airlifted out.

Tremblant-The trip was very successful.  There were only several mishaps.  Howard Burris broke a bone and the bus was delayed four hours while a malfunction was being fixed.  Fortunately Leo had a supply of  Snicker Bars and the bus promised a break in price for next year so all ended well.

Aspen- A refund check (amount unknown as of yet) is in the mail

Future Trips- There is a trip to Stowe planned for February 23-26, 2007 to Stowe.  There are plans to stay at the Mountaineer.  Leo is also looking into Elk Mountain in Pennsylvania.  Arley mentioned a place in Colorado that is a motel-condo combination that might be available.   He also suggested looking at doing trips in a different way.  For instance, having each participant make their own travel plans, might help the club have less financial responsibility.

Outings- John will be leading a canoe/kayak trip in the May to Keuta Lake.

Social- The next Happy Hour will be at Colorado Mining Company on April 25.  We are switching to Tuesday night because of biking.  The next night out will be the third Friday of the month at Santangelos.

New Member Strategies- A member wrote an e-mail stating that he was not made welcome at the general meeting.  There were a number of suggestions to make new members feels welcome.  Marv pointed out that we need some sort of infrastructure to identify to new members.

Merci -The board wants to send a special thanks to President Scott Severance for his inspiring leadership and refreshing ideas.  We also want to express our appreciation for him letting us use his office while he expanded his business into Florida.  His special enthusiasm will remain part of the OSC legacy for many years.  We hope that Scott will continue to be an integral part of the club for years to come.  Thanks also to Tom Button for stepping up to the plate and taking up the leadership of the club with ease and humor.  The board has expressed many times over the past two years on the positive attitude of its members.  Good luck to Scott in his endeavors and good luck to Tom as the future leader of the OSC.

Respectfully submitted,
