Secretary’s Report- accepted
Treasurer’s report- accepted
Membership- There are still 565 members with 4 applications currently being processed. We have had $148 in contributions. There is a box on the application blank for contributions. Joe Cali suggested that we give a free membership to members that may encourage other members to join.
Outings- John Whelan is leading a trip to Blue Ledge on the Hudson the third weekend in April. Lodging will be at Garnet Hill. There is also a canoe/kayak trip scheduled May 7th to Kayuta Lake.
Long Range Planning Committee- The next meeting will be Tuesday April 19th at Scott’s office at 7 PM.
Lodge- The lodge is running at a breakeven point. The lodge is providing a great service to club members and is a draw for new members. Also Bill ran out of ski tickets that were being sold at reduced rates. This season the ski club sold 20 Whiteface/Gore tickets, 220 Sugarbush tickets and 75 Killington tickets. There was a discussion on running bus trips to various ski areas which would include the ski tickets.
Trips- Scott mentioned that there are trips being looked into to Aspen and Europe. Currently the committee meets twice a year but it may change to be more proactive in encouraging more members to lead trips. Scott feels that we need to advertise our trips to others outside the ski club to promote more interest. Jane McCarthy is looking a trip to Ottawa during Winterlude in February.
Social- Happy Hour will be Tuesday April 19th at Colorado Mining Co.
Movie- Joe reported that school districts will not commit to renting space at this time. Joe is going to look into the New Times Theatre at the Sate Fair. He would like to see a venue that will hold 300 people.
Online Auction- Scott suggested having an online auction to raise money for the club. In order to eliminate the clerical work, bidders could do their own paperwork or else we could use a vehicle such as E-bay. We could sell such things as services and lift tickets. We need to make sure that there will be a profit for work involved. A committee would have to study the logistics.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:11 PM.
Respectfully submitted
Anne Sonne,
