Vice president-  Tom Button called the meeting to order  at 7:10 PM.

 

Members present-  Tom Button, Anne Sonne, Jan Carr, Jane McCarthy, Marv Patnode, Tom Button, Kay Kotwas,, John Whalen,  Terry Avery, Louise Beaubiah, John Sonne, Marv Patnode,  Leo Naylor, Karen Whedon, Kurt Londhair.

 

Excused- Scott Severance,  Bill Beaudin, Louise Beaubiah, Cathie Bass, Mary Clay, Jack Lancette

 

Guests- Dick Butler, Arley Morey

 

Secretary’s Report- accepted with the change that the renewals in January were 18 new members and not renewals.

 

Treasurer’s report- accepted.  There will be a budget planning meeting for the next year.

 

Committee Reports

 

Nominations- There has been no additional nominations.  Arley brought up the need to look at the impending proposals for the by-law changes and how they should be voted on.  Arley will take care of separating them for the vote.

 

Membership- There is an income of $11,730 from membership.

 

Long Range planning- Tom is looking into planning a bike ride starting from the lodge to stimulate interest.  Other ideas mentioned were planning a golf weekend and also going to a Jazz Fest in Burlington.  Dick Butler added that it is essential to have a leader who will plan events and lead groups in order to generate interest.

 

Boomer- Arley has put in an article on the proposed revision to the by-laws.

 

 Website- We have to renew the web site that is based in Colorado. 

 

Trips- The Innsbruck trip has been completed with only one injury.  An errant skier hit Remo Bianco while standing on the slope.  He dislocated his shoulder and had to be airlifted out.  Otherwise all went well.

 

Onondaga Cup race- There were 79 participants in the race.  A new addition was that of the junior racers. 

The total income was $1185.  Arley pointed out that there could be many more racers involved without causing any problems.  Arley  printed up a statement of expenses and income that can be used as a model for years to come.

 

 Lodge- The private rooms for the lodge have been almost fully booked for the last few weekends.  Additional fire doors have been added.  There is a proposal to put in public water at the lodge, which is on a well at present.

 

Social- there will be a Happy Hour at Kirby’s in Westvale March 29.  The next night out will be March 17 at the Western Ranch.  Call Norm P for reservations.

 

Biking- Biking will begin April 12.  The schedule has been printed in the Boomer.  The first bike party will be at Jan’s house on Sunday, April 30.

 

 

 

Outings-  There is one campsite opening (cost- $40.50) for the summer camping trip  that will run from July 30 to August 3 at Moffitt Beach near Speculator.  If you are interested call Terry Avery at 488-2178.
