February 7, 2006               

Vice President Tom button called the meeting to order at 7:16PM.

 

Members present- Tom Button, John Sonne, Anne Sonne, Jan Carr, Terry Avery, Mary Clay, Jack Lancette, Leo Naylor, Karen Whedon, Marv Patnode, Kurt Londhair

Secretary’s Report-  Approved

 

Treasurer’s Report- Approved.  John commented on the need to sell the ski tickets that have been purchased for the various ski areas.

 

Committee Reports

 

Nominations-  Arley reported the nominations are;

Tom Button- President, Dick Butler- Second Vice President, Christa Foster- Recording Secretary.

Board Members- Doug Ahlsen, Remo Bianco, Scott Foster, Kay Kotwas, Leo Naylor, Karen Whedon, Kurt Londhair, Mark Bidwell.

 

Membership- There is now 507 members and 10 active past presidents.  There have been 18 renewals since the beginning of January.  84 mailing labels are being printed to send out the paper Boomers.

 

Long Range planning-The next meeting will be February 8, 2006 at Marv’s house.  The agenda will be to  find a fund-raiser to replace the ski sale. Marv has disseminated fund raising ideas and the committee will begin to look into those ideas that are feasible.

 

Communications-All is going well with the Boomer and the Website.

 

Lodge- Dick Butler brought pictures of the new fire doors that are being installed at the lodge.  There is now an alcove at the entrance to the front door.  Some coat hooks and a bench have been installed in that area.  Two more fire doors will installed in the men’s and women’s dorm.

 

Trips-  Leo Naylor reported that the trips to Tremblant and Austria are ready to go.  We are still working on a refund for Aspen.  Marv suggested that we find a replacement for Art Holbin as chair of the Trip Committee.

 

 Cup Race-  Arley reported that the Cup Race will be held on February 26 at Labrador Mountain.  The race will be on Cutthroat.  Registration will be from 8:30 to 9:30.  There will be a $15.00 registration fee and there will be a special price for ski tickets for racers.  The NASTAR racing system will be used.  The winning team will be the team with the highest number of total points.

 

Social-  The next Happy Hour will be on Wednesday, February 22 at Colorado Mining Company.  Mary needs names ahead of time to provide drink tickets.  The March Happy Hour will be Wednesday, March 29 at Kirby’s in Westvale.  During Happy Hour, beers are $1.25 and wine is $1.50.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Old  Business

 

Business Cards-  Kurt Londhair will look into getting more business cards.

 

New Business

By-law change-  Arley pointed out that the by-laws say that we need to inform the members of the slate of officers in writing.  Since we no longer have a printed Boomer being sent, John Sonne recommended that we send out the slate on postcards.  Marv made a motion to authorize Arley Morey as pointman to chair a committee to review and update the by-laws.  Marv, Dick and Leo have volunteered to be on the committee.
